This Privacy Notice for “Search Console Insights” Chrome extension (“we,” “us,” or “our”) explains how and why we may access or process information when you use our extension (“Product”), including when you:

  • Visit our website: https://gscinsights.io 
  • Use our browser extension
  • Engage with us through support, email, or other interactions

This Privacy Notice is designed to give you full transparency into how your data is handled. 

If you do not agree with our policies and practices, you should discontinue use of the Product.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your data. However, since we do not retain user data, there is typically no stored data to access or delete.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

To provide the core functionality of GSC Insights, our extension requests read-only access to your Google Account.

  • Email Address: We access your Google account email address solely to verify your identity locally within the extension. We do not transmit this to our servers or use it for marketing. (Note: Once we launch our Premium version, your email will be used strictly to verify your purchased License Key).
  • Google Search Console Data: The extension accesses data such as search queries, clicks, impressions, and page performance metrics directly from the Google Search Console API.

Important note: This data is processed in real-time within your active browser session. We do not store, log, or transmit your Search Console data to any external servers or databases belonging to us.

Google Search Console Data

If you choose to connect your Google Search Console account, the extension may access data such as:

  • Search queries
  • Clicks and impressions
  • Page performance metrics
  • Other data used in your GSC account for properties

This data is processed in real time within your session and is not stored, logged, or retained by us. We do not store or collect your Google Search Console data at any time.

Email Address & License Key

We access your Google email locally to identify your account. When you provide a License Key, it is transmitted securely to our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy – Stripe company) solely for the purpose of validating your subscription tier.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

We process data only to deliver functionality.

Any data accessed through the Product is used solely to:

  • Display SEO insights
  • Analyze performance metrics
  • Improve tool functionality

Processing is temporary and occurs only during active usage. We do not store or collect user information for analytics, advertising, or profiling.

Search Console Insights extension’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON?

If you are located in the EEA or UK, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent (when connecting Google services)
  • Legitimate interest (to operate and improve the Product)
  • Legal obligations (if required by law)

Because we do not retain personal data, processing is limited strictly to operational necessity.

4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE INFORMATION?

We do not share personal data. We do not sell, rent, or trade user information.

Since we do not store or collect user data, there is no personal information shared with third parties.

5. DO WE USE COOKIES OR TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

Minimal and non-invasive use only. We do not use cookies for behavioral tracking, advertising, or user profiling.

6. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP INFORMATION?

We do not retain user data. All data processed by the Product is temporary and discarded after the session ends.

We do not maintain databases of user information or historical activity.

If you contact us directly, your message may be retained only as long as necessary to respond. However, since we do not store any of your data in our database, we will not be able ever to provide any analysis you implement using the Product.

The extension stores your preferences (theme settings) and your License Key locally in your own browser’s storage. It also temporarily caches Search Console performance data for up to 5 hours to improve speed and stay within Google API limits. This data never leaves your device and is NOT accessible by us.

7. HOW DO WE KEEP INFORMATION SAFE?

We minimize risk by default. The data shown from your GSC account’s properties is being handled by Google Search Console, through a direct API.

However, the primary security approach is structural: we do not store or collect user information, significantly reducing exposure risk.

8. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

No, we do not! We don’t knowingly collect data from individuals under 18 years of age.

9. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Restrict processing
  • Object to data usage

10. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most browsers include Do-Not-Track (DNT) settings. Because we do not track users or store behavioral data, DNT signals do not impact how the Product works.

11. REGIONAL PRIVACY RIGHTS

Users in regions such as the EU, UK, Canada, and certain US states may have additional rights under local laws. We comply with applicable data protection regulations. 

However, since we do not collect or store personal data, most regulatory obligations related to stored data do not apply in practice.

12. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?

Yes.We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect changes in regulations or improvements to the Product.
